David Hook is a founder of the Bouncy Castle Cryptography Project (bouncycastle.org) and its lead developer. After spending the first 12 years of his career programming in C doing language development and Computer Graphics, he started programming in Java in 1995 and become involved in Cryptography in 1996. He currently works for Crypto Workshop (cryptoworkshop.com) - a consultancy that has been spun out of the Bouncy Castle Project by the core Bouncy Castle developers. He has previously presented on Java, Cryptography, and Computer Graphics at the Australian Java User Group in Melbourne, and run short courses on Java at the University of Melbourne and the AUUG conference. He is the author of "Beginning Cryptography with Java" and has been an active open source developer since 1988.
